Best Time

Altitude

~1,000 m

FAQs

Is the Hadzabe experience respectful and ethical?

We work with community-agreed visits where a fair fee goes directly to the Hadzabe families hosting the group, arranged through local guides who know the families personally rather than a fixed tourist show.

How early does the visit start?

Very early ? hunting parties leave at first light, so most visits start with a pre-dawn pickup to reach Lake Eyasi in time to join them.

Can this be combined with other activities?

Yes, it is commonly paired with a visit to the Datoga people, blacksmiths and pastoralists who live nearby, making a full and varied cultural day around Lake Eyasi.

Is it physically demanding?

It involves walking over uneven bush terrain, sometimes for a couple of hours, so reasonable fitness and sturdy shoes are recommended, though the pace is set by the hunters and can be adapted.
